FAQs

Indian Universities do not insist on the above scores. However, since the academic programs are taught in English only, proficiency in English is a must. One should have studied Higher Secondary in English medium or English should have been one of his/her subjects.

Our campus is well equipped with its own campus clinic, where students can be treated for minor ailments requiring basic first aid. In the event of a serious medical illness/injury, the University has tie-ups with local hospitals to provide the best medical care. Consulting doctor is always available inside the campus.

DITU provides accommodation for international students, with separate hostel facilities available for boys and girls. The hostels are located inside the campus. A team of vigilante, dedicated, round the clock security staff ensure the safety of students and the security of the facilities. The laundry facility is also available inside the hostels. Four meals are served throughout the day in the hostel itself.

The hostel rooms are well lit and well ventilated. Students have the option of choosing either a single or a double (twin-sharing) room. Since these rooms are in high demand, students are advised to submit their requests for accommodation early in order to ensure that they get the accommodation of their choice.

Students who wish to stay outside the University campus can opt for private accommodation or rented flats nearby the University campus.

All international students staying in India for longer than 6 months are required to register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).

The following documents are required for registration:

  • Photocopy of the passport and initial visa
  • Four photographs of the applicant
  • Details of residence in India
  • HIV test report from one of the WHO recognized institutions for people in the age group of 15 to 60
  • Bonafide certificate from the University/College/Institution
  • Proof of Bank Account/sufficient funds for non-scholarship students

Documents required from the international students coming to India are as below:

  • Valid passport (minimum for six months)
  • Confirmed letter of acceptance or a provisional admission letter from a University or a college or institution.
  • Proof of availability of sufficient funds for the duration of studies in India for self-financing or NRI students.
  • Health certificate and AIDS-free certificate
  • Student Visa (not required for the children of Indian Diaspora)
  • Proof of long term (at least three years)/permanent residence in the country (not for the children of Indian Diaspora)
  • Application The academic year for DITU begins around the last week of July / first week of August. Please check with the University for admission dates and application deadlines. Prospective students who are interested in joining should apply well in advance.

Students need to procure a confirmed letter of admission from the recognized colleges or institution, prior to applying for a student visas Student visa can be obtained from any of the Indian Missions.

India offers various kinds of visas, depending on the purpose of the visit. The student visa is a visa specifically for students who wish to come to India to pursue a regular educationa program. Student visas are issued for the duration of the academic course of study or for a period of five years whichever is less, on the basis of letters of admission from Universities/recognized colleges or educational institutions in India. The children of NRIs and PIOs cardholders need not procure a student visa. Other international students will require a student visa or a research visa for Doctoral level courses.

The student is required to register online by filling up the prescribed application form and paying the prescribed online registration fee. The online application form is available on the University’s website. Before applying for admission, the student should go through the admission bulletin carefully to ensure that he / she fulfils the eligibility criteria for the particular programme. Registration fee is non refundable. Students are required to submit the scanned copies of their educational certificates alongwith their online application form. Admission will be offered only after the University administration is satisfied that the candidate fulfils all the eligibility criteria for the admission to the particular programme opted by him / her.

Admission Procedure – On scrutiny of the applicant’s documents, the University will issue Admission Offer / Provisional Admission Letter to the student, if he / she fulfils the eligibility criteria for admission to the programme opted for. The University will send the fee structure specifying the fee payable by the student at the time of reporting to the University. However, admission will be confirmed only after verification of the original documents as specified in the Admission Offer / Provisional Admission Letter. The student will then be asked to deposit the prescribed fee and submit all the required documents as specified in the Provisional Admission Letter and the Student Handbook which will be given to him / her at the University. After payment of the prescribed fee and submission of the required documents, the student will be formally registered as a student of the University, and will be permitted to attend the classes and participate in the academic activities of his / her programme. He / she will be provided the hostel accommodation if the same has been allotted to him / her on the basis of the application submitted, and the prescribed fee deposited, by the student. After that, the student will be permitted to avail the lodging and boarding facilities of the hostel.

The student is required to report to the Admissions Department.

Post Admission Formalities – Within three days of admission, the student will be required to register with the local Foreigners Regional Registration Office by submitting all required documents there and filling the prescribed application form given by that office.
