• Brief Profile

  Dr. Chitme Havagiray, Professor of Pharmacology is currently heading the IPR Cell of DIT University. He was also heading the Faculty of Pharmacy from 13.09.2018 to 24.12.2021. He completed his Master in Pharmacology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and Doctorate in Pharmacy from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi. Having more than 23 years of experience in teaching & research including 11 years teaching at West Virginia University USA academic partner- Oman Medical College, Oman. Dr. Chitme has been honored with many awards including Teacher of the Year Award by Hon. Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. He is also Fellow of Rural Health Society; received Certificate of Achievement from Ambhos Scientific Profile Outreach Campaign 2021; Innovation Ambassador           of Ministry of Education Innovation Council, AICTE, New Delhi; Received Research Excellence Awards, Certificate of Appreciation and Best Teacher Award by DIT University, Dehradun. He is also recipient of Outstanding Teacher Award by Outgoing Students of Oman Medical College, Muscat; Best Poster Presentation Award and Best Publication Award.

  He is an elected President of Indian Pharmaceutical Association, UK State Branch and also the President of Assoc. of Community Pharmacist in India, UK State Branch, As Principal investigator he completed 5 research projects funded by international funding agencies and Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Currently running three research projects Germany of academic & industry importance. He is an author of 5 books & 67 research articles in national & international Journals, 6 patents, 26 invited talks, 79 presentations at National and International platforms. His area of interest is to explore Clinical side of metabolic syndrome especially polycystic ovary syndrome. Many scholars are registered under his guidance for PHD thesis and M Pharm dissertation work.

  His areas of research interest includes Clinical side of Pharmacology especially on metabolic syndrome, infertility and cancer. He believes in building teams to accomplish multidisciplinary research projects and academic tasks. He holds life membership in various professional bodies like IPA, IPS, APTI, ISDS, IFS, Academic Fora, IHPA, ISNA, AIER, etc. Member of Editorial Board of Reputed Journals, reviewer of many National and International Journals. He successfully organized 24^th Annual National Convention of Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India in 2019. He was the Chairman, Convener and Coordinator of Organizing Committee of International/ National/ State level scientific events.
